RICHARD'S PUBLIC
DOMAIN DEMOS
All productions on this page
consist of various demos, which I coded in between 1999 to this current
year. As you probably might have guess, I have been involved in coding
demos as well as games, on the good old Commodore 64. I hope you will
enjoy these demos, as much as I enjoyed coding these. All demos are in
Number & alphabetic order. All files should work on WinVice or
CCS64.

To
be able to use these following files. You will need to transfer the
.D64/.PRG images to a real Commodore 64 using an XE1541 cable with Star
Commander
(you can also use XM1541-cable with Starcommander and with userport
driver under XP too
) Alternatively, you can download one
of those three highly
recommended C64 emulators.

2003 - Happy
New Year Demo
Release date: 1st January 2003
Code: Richard Bayliss
Graphics
& Porting: Richard Bayliss
Music:
Richard Bayliss

This demo was made celebrate the new year, in 2003. The music
in this demo is a rendition of a dance track known as Ecuador,
originally performed & composed by Sash. The DMC V7.0 version uses
a
4xspeed player, and the filters surely sound like techno drums too :)
Aural Beats
Release date: 4th April 2004
Code: Richard Bayliss
Graphics: Richard Bayliss and Hiram Kúmper
Music: Richard Bayliss
This demo
is a music demo, consisting of a choice of 7 different sound
tracks, composed using DMC V5.0, DMC V4.0, USA Music Assembler and also
the Goat Tracker cross platform music composer.

Biblet Techno
Release date: Some time in late 90's
Code: Richard Bayliss
Graphics: Richard Bayliss
Music: Richard Bayliss
This is a weird demo I wrote, using a mixture of BASIC and assembly
language, which uses strobe effects. Based on Ash & Dave's
"Digital Acid" demo, but using biblets and SID music instead and a
techno style tune.
Back in 2007 - Blazon
Release date: 28th May 2007
Code: Richard Bayliss
Graphics: DFlame/Blazon
Music: Richard Bayliss
An old
style demo I wrote for Blazon. Watch the effects, read the scroll text
and enjoy the show..
Blue Donut
Release date: 13th June 2004
Code: Richard Bayliss
Graphics Porting: Richard Bayliss
Music: Richard Bayliss
Weird
stuff it is nothing special. It is a simple picture demo with swirling
dots and music with a scroll text, but look at how the TND 2004
reflects in this demo. Probably would have been cooler if the TND logo
moved around the screen, but I'm not that good a demo coder.
Buenzli Party Demo
2007 (Crypt+TND Co-op)
Release date: 19th August 2007
Code: Richard Bayliss, Marauder/G.S.S
Graphics: Richard Bayliss, Troublemaker/Crypt, Spectre/Crypt
Music: Richard Bayliss
This is a co-op demo I had done with Crypt. The demo is split into 3
parts. First you are presented with a beerglass, secondly the intro
comes on with a rendition of a tune I did for Commodore Zone (Club 70)
and then comes the main part with hell of a lot of scrolling waffle and
music. I left it a bit late to release this demo, as the Buenzli party
was in August 2007 :o) And today it is 11th November 2007. Hahahahaha.
Carl Mason Mini Slideshow
Release date: 17th March 2012
Code: Richard Bayliss
Decompression routine: Magnus Lind
Graphics: Carl Mason
Music: TLF/Xentrix
This was a little demo I wrote in late 2011, before Christmas time, but
it never got released until today. This was because there was a bug in
the code, in which made the sprite scroll flicker. I decided not to do
any more to the demo, and rather than leave it fester on the hard drive
untouched. I decided to release it for you all to see and enjoy. This
1-filed slideshow consists of pictures which Carl Mason drew back in
the early-mid 1990's and they never saw the light of day until now.
Enjoy this rare collection.
Christmas Party Demo

Release date: 19th December 2006
Code: Richard Bayliss

Christmas for the C64 cannot be without a Christmas demo. This demo has
a nice TND logo by RRR/Oxyron, with pic+logo by myself at the bottom
and also some jolly music composed by me too :) There's also a nice
simple sprite snow effect and also a scroll text. Take no notice about
the line (sprite sinus) as there is no sprite sinus. But there was
originally. Hope you like it. .
(Disk
also contains past
time Richard Bayliss goodies.)

Crazy Fish Demo
Release date: 26th October 2008

A small single 2 frame
picture animation demo with scroll text and music. This got entered for
the demo compo at X-2008, and made it 13th place (Which was the last

funny demo. :) X-2008 was very cool on the demos front.

An
intro/demo that was originally meant for the Crypt megademo, but
ended up as a farewell demo, as I was being asked for too much, which I
would not have the time for. Still take a look at this nice demo and
also the nifty dot plotter, that I learned from NTSC coder, The Phantom
(Thanks Eric)..

Gangnam
64-Style
Release date: 23rd March 2013
Code: Richard Bayliss
Graphics: Johan Janssen
Music: Richard Bayliss
This demo
wasn't really intented to be produced, but last week I did a SID cover
of Psy's "Gangnam Style" using Goat Tracker. This was only just for fun
as a boredom killer. I showed the demo to JSL and he did a picture for
the tune. Then suddenly, I transformed it from a picture with music
into a mini C64 demo, featuring a bit map, scroll text and a wobbling
"Gangnam 64Style logo". This is a tribute to the funniest dance track
of the end of 2012, "Gangnam Style". To show how fun it was, I ended up
producing this little demo. Enjoy!

A small
demo I wrote for a member of Insiders, written just for fun. The demo
is plain simple, but my demo coding wasn't up to scratch. As I have
said before - I am more of a games programmer than a demo programmer.
Warning, some text might use words related to sex, and contents like
that - but not written by me of course.

An anti jamster demo, after being ripped off by losing credit on my

TND Intro 2010
V1
(TND)
Release date: 15th August 2010
Code: Richard Bayliss
Graphics: Johan Janssen
Music: Decoy/Excess
This is my latest TND intro, which I might use to link to future games
productions on the TND label (My own projects). It was programmed on a
2 day period over this weekend. I come across problems with it, due to
rastertime running out. I fixed the rastertime and timing issues and
now everything is moving hunky dory. Expect my games appear with a nice
intro like this in the near future.

Walker Tribute Demo
Release

Music: Randy/Fraction
After the
illegal crack
of Sub Hunter and the rude comments they gave me in their cracktro. A
couple of weeks later (or maybe earlier) I decided to write a new
anti-lamer demo dedicated to them to make me feel better. WARNING ....
Very harsh language. I
don't know which people are really behind TWG, but they should get a
life with their childish remarks and anti-greetings and scrap their
group completely or just work on decent material instead.
